The Challenge
As Emax Digital’s business grew, so did their infrastructure needs. While their early setup was suitable for a startup, they required more stability, visibility, and cost control as they expanded. They had extensive AWS usage, particularly leveraging services like Redshift, S3, EC2, and Kubernetes, but needed more efficiency.
The company also planned to integrate Amazon Bedrock-enabled GenAI into its solution to enhance analysis functionality, particularly by utilising Large Language Models (LLMs) for advanced e-commerce and customer interaction analytics.
Benjamin Hofmann, CTO at Emax Digital, knew that as the company expanded, its cloud infrastructure would need to be agile, cost-efficient, and capable of scaling with its business.
He also identified that they would need support from specialist AWS GenAI experts. Benjamin asked Emax Digital’s account manager at AWS in Germany to recommend a third-party DevOps, GenAI and FinOps company and was introduced to the team at Automat-it, a Premier Tier AWS Partner with more than 400 certifications.
The Solution
Utilising Automat-it’s Amazon Bedrock expertise
Automat-it was asked to help build a prototype of an AI solution; a Proof of Concept (POC) focused on automating customer insights about sales trends and market patterns.
Automat-it utilised Amazon Bedrock to help build the GenAI prototype. By feeding their large language model (LLM) real-time data, the goal was to help customers answer critical questions about their Amazon marketplace performance. Bedrock is a service for building generative AI applications on AWS.
The GenAI-driven approach outperformed traditional CRM dashboards by allowing deeper engagement with data via natural language prompts, significantly improving user interaction. Additionally, Automat-it provided real-time support during the project, adjusting the system based on ongoing feedback. The prototype is now being tested, pending eventual roll-out to Emax Digital’s customers.
Effective FinOps and cloud cost management
Automat-it also provided value through its FinOps service, which focused on identifying opportunities for cost savings. They performed an in-depth analysis of Emax Digital’s usage patterns and presented a tailored cost-reduction strategy, including the adoption of Amazon Savings Plans and the optimisation of EC2 instances.

“The cost reduction insights were great, especially the alerts about spikes in system usage and opportunities to move to ARM-based EC2 instances.”
